Your journey begins

Welcome to Cairo.

The Nile appears beneath you. A city of millions stretches towards the desert. And there, on the horizon, are the pyramids.

Follow one possible journey through Egypt. Then let’s make it yours.

The Great Sphinx with a pyramid rising behind it.

01 · Cairo & Giza

The pyramids & the Sphinx

The moment it becomes real.

Stand beneath the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, then meet the Great Sphinx. The scale, the desert light, the stone beneath your feet: some places ask you to put the camera down for a moment.

The interior of the Grand Egyptian Museum.

01 · Cairo & Giza

Grand Egyptian Museum

A whole civilisation unfolds.

Step from the vastness of Giza into the extraordinary detail of ancient Egypt. Monumental sculpture, intimate objects and the treasures of Tutankhamun bring the people behind the monuments into focus.

Carved columns in the Great Hypostyle Hall at Karnak.

02 · Fly to Luxor

Karnak Temple

Walk among giants.

A flight south brings you to Luxor, the ancient city of Thebes. At Karnak, immense carved columns rise around you in a forest of stone. Look up, slow down, and follow the stories that cover the walls.

Illuminated statues and the entrance of Luxor Temple at night.

02 · Luxor

Luxor Temple

When the city turns to gold.

In the heart of the modern city, Luxor Temple holds another world within its walls. Colossal statues and long colonnades take on a different presence as evening light gives way to illumination.

More time in Luxor? The Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut’s temple open another chapter on the west bank.

A village and desert cliffs along the Nile, photographed from the river.

03 · Step aboard

The Nile journey

Let the river set the pace.

Leave the road behind and settle into the rhythm of the river. Sail south towards Aswan, watching palms, villages and desert hills drift past. Between temple visits, there is time simply to be here.

The towering entrance gateway of the Temple of Horus at Edfu.

03 · Along the Nile

Edfu Temple

Through the gates of Horus.

Step ashore for one of Egypt’s best-preserved ancient temples. Beyond the towering gateway, courts and columned halls lead towards the sanctuary of Horus, the falcon god.

Kom Ombo Temple above the river with cruise boats beside the bank.

03 · Along the Nile

Kom Ombo

One temple. Two worlds.

Above a bend in the river, Kom Ombo honours two gods: crocodile-headed Sobek and Horus the Elder. Its paired layout and intricate carvings make this riverside stop a story all its own.

Feluccas beside rocky islands and vegetation on the Nile at Aswan.

04 · Aswan

The beauty of Aswan

A softer kind of wonder.

Granite islands, white felucca sails and the meeting of desert and water. Aswan invites a slower gaze. Leave room for the river, for Nubian culture, and for the small encounters that stay with you.

The Philae temple complex on Agilkia Island, seen from the water.

04 · A boat ride from Aswan

Philae Temple

An island sanctuary.

Approach by small boat and watch the temple emerge from the water. Dedicated to Isis, Philae was carefully moved to nearby Agilkia Island to preserve it. The setting is as memorable as the stonework.

The rock-cut temples at Abu Simbel.

05 · Beyond Aswan

Abu Simbel

An unforgettable final chapter.

Travel farther south from Aswan to the temples of Ramesses II and Nefertari. Cut into the rock and later relocated above Lake Nasser, these monumental façades make a remarkable ending to the journey.

Before you go

Good questions.
A personal answer.

Can I travel privately, or do I need to join a group?

We arrange private trips for one traveller, a couple, a family or a group of your own. Tell us who is travelling and we can discuss how to shape the journey.

Does a private trip mean a private cruise boat?

A private itinerary can include a shared cruise vessel. We’ll clarify which guides, vehicles and shore excursions are exclusive to your party, and any shared arrangements, in your proposal.

Can I change the route or length?

Yes. The journey above is inspiration for your own itinerary. One, two and three weeks are starting points for a conversation about your time, interests and pace.

How do I compare the hotel levels?

Tell us whether you are considering four-star, five-star or ultra-luxury stays. We can discuss the actual properties, room options and cruise style when planning your trip.

What will my quote include?

Ask us for a clear breakdown of accommodation, transport, domestic flights, guiding, site entrance fees, meals and optional extras. We’ll discuss the details of your proposed itinerary before you decide.

Can I meet you in Egypt from another country?

Yes. Our travellers have come from around the world. Let us know where you will be travelling from so we can discuss your arrival in Cairo and the onward arrangements.

Is sending an enquiry a booking?

No. It starts a conversation with our family about your trip. Dates, availability, prices and booking terms are confirmed separately before you commit.
